Arrivée à Paris!

Hey there folks! Ellie is alive and well in Paris! Took me twenty-one hours to get here, but yet I still made it in one piece! Of course I made lovely French friends on the plane, they nick named me “The States”. Represent!  Getting through customs was not scary what so ever. As soon as I showed my passport to the French customs, he read it out loud my name and spoke something jokingly in French to the other custom guy, and then told me that they thought my name was “Very pretty!” So rather the usual intense interrogation, the customs men just flirted with me! I think I like French people!
I had a lovely tour from the beautiful Amber, my DTS School Leader. I can see the Eifel Tower from my neighborhood! It’s very far off in the distance, but still, saw it with my own two eyes! She took me to my new abode, which is a Studio Flat. Everything is in the same room, the kitchen is in my living room, my living room is in my bedroom, and fortunately my bathroom has a sliding door! I have no roommates yet, but I think the apartment is just a temporary home. So no getting attached to it yet!
I found out also today that I am currently the only staff, which will be crazy, but challenging in an amazing way.  We have exactly twenty-one students, mostly girls and six boys! I always say to God, no matter how difficult it is the first time, when faced with a challenge once, I always know I can do it a second time even better. So no worries!
Today I am going to go explore the city on my own, and grocery shop! It’s going to get some getting used to, being independent, but with God’s grace I’m sure I won’t get lost and He will help me get better at directions!
I am quickly getting captivated by the city life, and the French culture, God certainly did an amazing job on creating these people! I miss everyone at home very much, but God is my best friend and He keeps me company always! Hope you are having a sunshine filled day!

Prayer Points:

*Financial Provision-Still need quite a few people to be committed to support me monthly (paypal account eleclaire@aol.com)
* That I grow in being independent. Being an extrovert in a small base is difficult, but God certainly makes up for everything I need!
*For peace and trust in God. Lots of stuff to prepare for the DTS in short time!

Paris here I come! Ellie is staffing a DTS!

Dear Friends and Family,

Hey there! I just wanted to give you an update on all the incredible things I have been seeing God do and the missions He has been taking me on! I have just completed a three-month school called “Kerusso- School of the Kingdom” with the mission’s organization Youth with a Mission. I actually have just recently flown in to Melbourne, Australia from Nadi, Fiji I prepared for Fiji for two months in Melbourne where we had lectures on expanding the Kingdom of Heaven on earth! We went out to the city to do evangelism every week, I met so many inspiring people and got to speak life into a lot of people. It was a challenge to not have fear of man, but God certainly helped me over come it. We had a lot of preaching projects; I realized I really love to preach God’s Word! Then as a team of thirteen we went to Fiji for one whole month, we organized and spoke at seminars and preached all about the Kingdom of God. I saw so many miracles touch the people we prayed for, God really brought down heaven to earth this past month! Every time we preached, we would always end with asking the people if they wanted prayer, people had arthritis healed, the deaf could hear, and many had a strong encounter with God.
But for the past two weeks I have been serving at YWAM Melbourne, Australia. I have been co-leading a morning kids program with the YWAM base kids, preparing rooms for people that have come back from the mission field, and even cooking in the kitchen. It has been an incredible couple of weeks; I have really got the opportunity to understand the backbone of missions and how a mission base really depends on the support of hard working people.  It has been quite tiring, but in the best productive way! And as I have been back in Melbourne, God has been putting a new country on my heart!
Paris, France is where I feel God leading to me next. As soon as I got back from Fiji God put Paris on my heart to pray for, as I did God started pointing me in that direction. So I looked up the YWAM base there, and as I started praying into the base God spoke through many different encounters. As I started researching more into the base, it became clear that this particular base is perfect for me. The base there really has a passion for arts, food, and culture! Three of my favorite things!
The base is a pioneering base, which means that it is just forming. They actually have the school in a little restaurant/café. It’s run as a business on the weekends, but on the weekdays it’s used by the DTS. They’re passionate about reaching out to these urban crossroads of many cultures, French people are very sensitive to beauty and culture: the base is trying to develop artistic projects to be a part of the community around them and abroad. One project they are working on that really appeals to me is that they really want to start a Photography Discipleship Training School, and I really want to be apart of that. I love how God can take our gifts and use them for missions to glorify Him!
So I have prayed and been accepted into staffing the Discipleship Training School at YWAM Paris, France. I will be working with discipling the students in growing in their relationship with God and developing a passion and focus for missions! We will spend three months in lecture in Paris, where we will have lectures about hearing God’s voice and applying missions to real life, and do evangelism in the city. The whole focus of the training is so that we can equip the team to serve on a three-month mission trip to Cambodia. I will be co-leading an outreach team, setting up ministry and contacts for the students. I’ve never led an outreach team, but with God’s grace I know I can do it!
The DTS starts February 5th, 2012. So soon I know! Right now I’m praying for God to provide $1000 dollars so I can buy a plane ticket there, and then I need $750 dollars in monthly support. Paris is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but I know for a fact that God pays for His good ideas! I plan to be in Paris from January 18th, to August 22nd.  The plans are happening so quickly, I really need to get there as soon as possible to help the other staff prepare for the school get comfortable with my new home.
As a sister in Christ, I am asking for your support in prayer and financially. Since YWAM is a voluntary organization and a full time job, I will not be able to provide for my self. So I am asking if I could be supported financial by the Church for this? This is seven month long commitment, so its not just like a normal mission trip where I raise the money in advance, but I need to pay the base monthly for all my fees, which includes housing, food, staff fees, and outreach to Cambodia. So that rounds up to $750. After the seven months I will pray and ask God where He wants to take me next, I’m trusting in His faithfulness that He will reveal it to me in His perfect and good timing.
So that means if anyone could support me monthly, it would make a huge difference. Even $10 a month would make an impact. I’m at square one right now, so every bit counts. If you would like to support me, please email me and let me know as soon as possible. I’m trying to fly to Paris as soon as possible, straight from Melbourne, but I need $800 to book a flight. So that’s my first step. I can’t do it alone, but with God’s help I can!
So if you can help support me in any possible way, please contact me and I will let you know all the ways you can help! You can support me via www.paypal.com email eleclaire@aol.com
I am missing you all very dearly; thank you for always keeping me in your prayers! God bless!

            Your sister in Christ,
